Primitive Headless Horseman Doll, shelf sitter

This is the first in our line of original dolls. From the American Folk tale, "Sleepy Hollow," comes our headless horseman. The pumpkin headed rider sits atop a black horse rearing against a pumpkin. His cape is pose-able, in that it has wire sewn into it so that it looks like it is "flowing in the wind." There is a sign that points the way to "Sleepy Hollow." The horse with his mane again, flowing in the wind, balances on a large painted muslin pumpkin. The pieces have been made out of muslin,painted, shaded and then saturated with a mixture of coffee, vanilla, and cinnamon, and then baked for that aged look and pleasant scent. The set stands approx. 10 inches tall.
